The continuing horse search (and Breaking Dawn!)

It would sure be nice to find a horse soon. I look every day to see if anyone has put up any new ads.

I was emailed last week by a lady who has the domain name www.endurancehorses.eu and as to be expected, the horse was out of my range.

This is the horse, it was one of those price not listed ads that make you call. That always means too much money. They want 7500 for this mare.

It looks like mostly rich people ride Arabians in Germany.

Then the same lady wrote me back to tell me about a slightly less expensive horse, and I had to tell her, she has the best photo yet in my entire search. These people know how to stand up a horse! I did tell her I don't like Seabiscuit legs (nor Eight Belles pasterns, nor tied in!), and the fact she's using a lip chain on the mare for the photo concerns me. She replied that all the race horses go in lip chains. OK then. Horses as commodities then. Then I did it, I opened up my Wiszi folder and remembered how balanced Wiszi is, how straight and strong her legs are, agh, why did I have to do that.

Then I found this gelding and I fell in love with the photos.

Same age, same height as Wiszi, and 1000Euros less.

But still out of range.

I really like this horse, but sadly he's also too much money.

Standardbreds: I keep finding safe, sensible huge horses, or wild dangerous less-huge ones.

I found a chestnut mare with her mane on the wrong side for only 990E and thought, Uh oh...what is wrong with her? I actually like that the ad says, "Can canter on a lungeline" - hehee, who needs cantering anyway? OK I just emailed them asking why so cheap.

It's depressing to look at the ads. So many stallions, and so many horses over 20 that people want to get rid of. And all these super expensive Arabians. I found one that she said "I paid 11K euros for this mare and won't take less than 6K for her" and I'm thinking, you idiot why did you pay 11K for a trail horse? People are deluded here I think.

On a lighter note, I saw Breaking Dawn tonight with a Spanish colleague and even though I warned him that Edward breaks the bed, at the moment when Edward broke the headboard, he burst out laughing his trademark infectious laugh, so loud, the entire theater joined in. I was crying I was laughing so hard. Also he jumped up and started scolding people in Spanish to shush up during the serious scenes. Then he switched to German, it was so cute.

Seeing Bella turn into a skeleton was very nice, I felt like the movie honored the book. I knew I'd have to deal with a lot of honeymoon, and that was OK, but I'm especially glad about the gore in the film. It needed to be bloody and disgusting and it truly was. The wolves, again, are so woefully under-budgeted, but the scenes of the Northwest make up for it. My Spanish buddy was so surprised when I pointed to the forest scene and said, "Meine Heimat!" He was like, "Really, that's your home!!!??"

My favorite parts are, as usual, the Cullen vampires and their interactions, as well as the wolf interactions. But omgosh, the speeches at the wedding were such an unexpected surprise, I was rolling!

OK now, ready for some Volturi and Renesmee!
