Preview of my wood-stacking prowess! The device on the left is our splitter. The donkey has a new favorite spot between the wood hut and the huge wood pile. It's got a nice breeze.
Major's owner blogged this week about making home-made stirrup leather covers. Since I'm not crafty I thought I could just put giant noseband pads on. They fit perfectly.
I rode today and I really can forego the half chaps!
I got lucky, without even measuring, they fit exactly between the flap and the buckle guard. I paid 6Euros each.
And then I paid 38 EUROS on the greatest indulgement of my German life. Amazon imports them from America. Both boxes had been opened and carefully taped closed again, because apparently the law is each can must have a label in the German language. I suspect they were intended for individual sale, from all the stickers.
I might not have mentioned my 2020 recurring dream. I keep having this dream that I'm visiting my family in America and then it's about time to go back to Germany and I'm hit with the awful realization that I haven't drunk any root beer. (That would never happen in RL, it's our ritual to go to Fred Meyer and buy boxes of it on Day 1 of our visits.) OK dream, you can stop now.

Wood stacking for the WIN!
And your stirrup leather guards look awesome. I have a halter "nose fuzzy" on my seat belt in the car and the truck because seat belts were designed by men for men, and always ride up around my ear. The fuzzy keeps the belt in place a bit better.
It feels too hot here. The thermostat says 78*, but I dunno, I can't move....
Want to come stack wood? Am getting two cords delivered shortly! Glad the stirrup covers worked, they look comfy! And if you really love something, like your root beer, it is worth it. I'm sure you'll savor every drop!
