Someone asked how Poganinka did this weekend and she placed 5th out of 10. (She's the 2 year old I fell for, Mag's niece).
I just now found the video of her presentation but the music is so bad I think it contributed to her loss. JK. I hope. I had missed her because I had planned my arrival to meet with the stallions classes. Yah, I wanted to sleep in.
The video below is better, but obviously not from Aachen.
Here is a much better video of "my" filly in Poland, also from this year:
She's got way too much chrome for me, a belly spot, a left-side mane like all of Mag's family, but I love her anyway, cuz I feel like I know her. Scroll down for proof.
I think it's interesting that both this filly and Pogrom have that upwards-drifting white sock thing. I just made that up, but you can see it on her legs, and Pogrom's. I'd rather not see any white on a horse at all. My hands are shriveled from trying to change Mag's mane from brownish grey mud, back to white tonight. The neverending struggle. (And he was fractious, today, so I had to have J's help, and he did not appreciate the fractiousness.)
My filly seems to be a nobody. I wonder what will happen to her.
Have you ever fallen for a horse based on its personality, never having seen its body?
Well, it could be, that her lovey-ness is based on insecurity and she'd be a freak in the real world.
But I still love her.
And she seems to love me.
She's only won anything in Poland:
I wish you well, sweet girl.
Gotta get to Poland.....

That's awesome that you got to meet some of Mag's relatives. His niece seems to be the super cuddly type!
On the topic of Arabians I forgot to answer your question about Lightning, the Arab that was retired with us. He passed in March. He was 32 years old and had been with us for nine years. He was a fabulous horse. In the sea of warmbloods and thoroughbreds we've had three Arabians retired with us - all of them were grays.
Oh she is so sweet. She reminds me quite a bit of some of the fillies at Stone Ridge in hand; chestnuts with long white stockings, but sweet as can be. It's been so so long, I can't remember all the stallions' names anymore. I don't think they were Bey Shah babies, though.
