I'm Lytha from West Seattle, Washington. I moved to NRW, Germany in 2007 and married a wonderful German man who understands my love of horses and fulfilled my dream of living the last 2/3 of my life in the country, with my horse in my backyard.

I do like the eye - you can see how hard Mara's trying, now that she knows there will be a reward for that work.
you can see the progress - nice!

Mara IS trying.
And that "no" attitude, I know it well. When Fee was younger, her answer to all new stuff was "F**** NO, you can't make me, you're not big enough."
Now it's much easier. But then, "now" comes after 7+ years of proving to her that I am, in fact, big enough.
I think Mara isn't nearly as stubborn as Fee was. She seems to genuinely like people (Fiddle didn't), and want to please them (Fiddle definitely didn't). So I'll bet you make better progress with her. Maybe not as fast as you want, but good progress is better than fast progress, right?
I hope Mell continues to help you both!
