Shapeshifting Baasha

Can you guess what is going on in these photos? Specifically, why this happened?

I've never has this happen before, and I was amazed. I've also never seen a Hamilton halter break, despite Arabian horses' best efforts.

But this is odd. I did not see it happen, I was fooling with the camera in that micron.

Suddenly Baasha was ROTFL and on his way to the pasture full tilt. Then he realized the black pony wasn't following - I had him. He tried once more to lure the pony away with flashy mane/tail/prance action. The pony was like, "What?" He didn't realize this was Baasha's very first shapeshifting event and it was a very big deal.

Your evil plan is not working Baasha. Come back and let me get the fly mask on. (The fly mask was lying under the halter.)

Oh no, he had to play hard to catch horse for a few minutes. His escaping a halter was a new feeling, it felt good.

Only, how to balance what he wants most (companion pony) with what he wants second most (pasture).

He came to me and let me put the fly mask on.

Your shapeshifting act ends here.

I'm thinking smarty-pantz lifted his head up and used the leadrope over his poll to "scrape" both halter and flymask off into space...
How are the two of them getting along? (You said something in yesterday's comments about a "turn for the worse.")

I don't know how he did it, but please ask him not to make it public.

Love that you found a buddy!!!
