It's not Leipzig

OK I'm not up on my Geography but it is almost to Leipzig for me, when I look at a map. My man assures me it's an hour shy of that city.

I wanted to share with you a few photos from the breeder I'll visit, of horses that are both started, and in my price range. Then I noticed today that the website changed, there are higher prices and more horses and ..aaagh!? What am I doing, I don't want to drive to kingdom come...I've learned this now. I wrote again, "I do not want to waste your time, here is what I can afford." She responded, "We have 10 in that range." OK then. Maybe worth the trip. Maybe. Here are some of them, I don't know exactly cuz as I said they are in flux right now.
Can't see the feet, but not a bad photo in comparison to all the crappy ones out there!
The weird thing about this farm is that they offer so many horses for sale that they did not breed. In answer to my query, they said, "Yes, we sell for other farms." They sell horses of all origin, but breed black egyptians. I have no interest in black horses. But I see they have one for endurace for sale, for 12,000.00 Euros. Whew! Here he is, completing one year successfully at endurance, and being approved by the Arabian breeding club in Germany. Not that I know what breeding approval entails.
There he is, showing how well he can talk to mares at vet checks. And the bit someone feels he requires to rate him. (You can tell it's a European endurance ride by the fact there are absolutely zero saddle bags attached to this horse.)

I like this one but I think he's not ridden yet. Mane on wrong side, I'll try to get over.
I'll tell myself, "I'm not looking in a mirror, this is real life."
A
I like this young mare but I think it folly to place such a huge saddle on a youngster just to prove he can wear a saddle. Can't they find one that fits?
They don't have a high percentage of grey horses, this is nice. This is a 4 year old mare, I suspect, younger in the photo Also, some of these photos, (starting with this one I think) are taken in the dead of Winter. I think that makes an effect on the sale photo.
This is another young mare. Please don't judge me by my affinity for this color.
Just to say they do have greys on board: ) Also, I am impressed that they really know how to make a sale photo, even if this one could be standing straighter, andcould look less mal-nourished (see his tailbone?). I will let you know if anything changes in the upcoming week. I hope I'll have more options. We'll see.

I didn't know that there was a prefered side for the mane to fall. Joe's mane hung over the left side of his neck and he was one spectacular horse!
Good luck in your search. I like seeing the pics.

Those all look like nice horses from the photos. I think it's well worth the drive.

Good luck in your continued search. At least you get to see some beautiful horseflesh. I love the black.

I like the pretty little bay filly! She does look tiny, tho.
At least they are using round-skirt saddles, which helps a little on short-backed Arabs, but the saddle PADS are humongous!
Since they have a variety that are at least in the same price range, it seems like the trip would be worth it--better than driving to 10 *different* farms to see the same variety...

Oooh! More pretty horses to look at. I think it sounds like this trip will be worth it with such a variety of horses to try out and have a look at.
Thanks for sharing this with us :)

I've noticed that comment a few times now... the mane being on the wrong side. But then there will be a pic of another horse with the mane "on the wrong side" and you don't mention it.

Sounds like it will be worth the drive if there are 10 to try at least in your price range. Funny about the manes, the barn I worked at wanted all manes on the right side, ropers prefer the left side (so the rope dont get caught in it) and all my horses but one have a mane on the right side. It dont matter to me which side its on.

That first chestnut is really cute. I like him. He has nice flat bone in his legs, even if you cant see the feet.
The others look like babies!

That is a huge saddle to put on them.

Two of my mares manes are on the left, one is on the right. Well, what mane Emma does have is to the left! LOL LOL But I will give up some mane for a nice tail anytime!! LOL

Aaaa I'm so late!

To the next person who tells you you must spend more on the horse: You're saving all the rest of your Euros to provide the best vet care and upkeep. Nyah.

All those horses are presented beautifully! Except the last grey - how odd. He looks wormy with that poor coat.

Umm. What side am I supposed to fling Dixie's mane to? The near side or the off side? Cause it goes wherever it wants, but I will certainly braid it on the correct side for our blog photos. ;)

Jill, I think it's just statistics, no right or wrong. I think I could get over it if I got a "wrong" one, hehe.

Annette, I'm really worried about it being a waste of my weekend..

FV, Thanks. If you only knew where these horses were from...

Evensong, yah I don't like the daintiness of some of them.

Lisa, thanks, it's stressful though.

CDN, I'll try to be more consistent in my criticism of meaningless things: )

Crystal, I wonder how hard it is to train a mane to lie on the other side.

Funder, the mane thing is just me being persnickety: ) Hey, if you only knew where those horses come from - even I've heard of this stable (not in Germany). That grey is a son of Enzo. !!!! And the tiny bays are daughters of Drabant, oooooh: ) SO, what went wrong? Why so cheap?
