Not bad for a rescue but..

I am not driving out to meet this mare because I do not want to fall in love with her and then be bathing her every week for the next 20 years. She looks light boned, with a show horse hind end, perhaps too delicate to carry a heavyweight but she's very pretty for a rescue Arabian.

They tempted me, they said she's a fastidious mare who never rolls in dirt/mud. If this is her being clean, I don't want to see dirty. (Has anyone ever washed her mane?) She was slaughter-bound due to a divorce (!!) Now she's a companion horse for a blind mare, but they want her to go to a riding home.

(Isn't it odd how much her face looks like Baasha's?)

I just can't.

She looks very nice and you'd be doing her a favor... I'm just saying.

FV, She's already rescued, she's not in danger. Otherwise I'd be really tempted.

She is very sweet looking. What a sad story on her too. Glad she is able to be a companion. As a current owner of a grey myself I understand the bathing every other day! Good luck in your continued search!

She's lovely! I just got a grey/white welsh pony and she is basically clean or cleans off very easily.

I know you already have a grey, but a good horse is never a bad color :) Oh! And then you'd also have a matched pair in your pasture!

Any word from the standie rescues? Those horses won't be grey...!

I'd recommend a skewbald - the bold markings take one's eye off the dirt. But then I am biased in this regard!

Every time I see or hear comments about keeping grey horses clean I think I should be taking pictures of my herd and their love of dirt/mud/poo/etc. I swear my greys are much cleaner individuals than my "colored" horses could ever think of being. Just because green spots may not necessarily look green on bays or chestnuts, they still look like spots that need to be cleaned and they take just as darn long to remove. Just saying........dirty is dirty no matter what color the hair coat. LOL

Her head does look a lot like Baasha in that pic.

Thanks for your comment, I have missed blogging too. Both sides of it, writing and reading, but it doesn't look like it will be anytime soon before my body has recovered enough to allow me to do the things I love but I will try to get myself through the current writer's block and touching base more often.

Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas!

Well you are already practiced up on bathing every other day already, so might as well keep going ;)

I bet you would fall in love with her...and she with you, if you went to go meet her. Wouldn't it be wild if she was related to Baasha?!

Merry Christmas to you and your Man!

It sounds like you're saying "I just can't" but a part of you is saying "I kinda want to"
