97F and a request

Arizona has a state saying: "But it's a dry heat."

This is just miserable! I want to spend all day driving on the autobahn in the cool car. When I took this photo last Winter I was wondering if I'd ever see the color green again.

Oh to sink my bare feet in some snow right now!

I had my 4th interview today at a company I'd really love to work for - please say a prayer - it sounds really good. I'd never been interviewed by a CTO before. Scary.

They've made me an offer but I am trying not to get too excited until I sign a contract.

So much of my sense of worth comes from what I do for a living and I don't know how much longer I can not do what I love.

I long for mental exhaustion, social bombardment, and technical challenges.

You employed people out there, you know it - the moment when if you don't have a cup of coffee you're just gonna crash into your cubicle wall?

Ahhh, yes, hitting "the wall" - I just did that a couple of hours ago. I wish I were a coffee drinker.

Crazy as it sounds I like to get on my treadmill at the end of the day despite being physically tired. Nothing like running off your stress, it works for me!

I hope and pray you get the job! I've been looking for a while and it's frustrating. Sorry it's so hot I can't even imagine especially with the lack of A/C in Germany. Stay cool!

Now that is hot! We've been averaging 95 or so but it IS a dry heat so it's a little more bearable.

Good luck on the job. But what is a CTO, Chief Technical Operator??

Congratulations! 4 interviews? Yikes. They are serious about hiring the right person. I'm so used to other people hiring their friends and relatives behind my back without any interviews that I really respect this company's process. Especially, since I usually ended up having to be the one to request that the friends and relatives be fired when they refused to lift a finger to do any work.

Melissa, i can't believe you work out after your strenuous days!

Frau, you know exactly what this is like: )

FV, close: chief technical officer.

NM, i found out they do welcome parties for every single new hire. geez!!!! and they said no one has ever left the company in their 6 years of existence. i'm thinking of that movie with tom cruise: the firm. you know, no one left because if they wanted to, they ended up dead!

gee, it's a job, not a secret society, or is it....?

*still waiting for that contract*

I love how we all long for the sun in the dead of winter, and for a little snow in the heat of summer. And it would bore us all to tears if it stayed a steady, pleasant 75f...NOT!
Good luck with the job!

97 degrees? My hubby is working in Phoenix, AX since last month and he says that dry heat is just a tad better than the swamplands of the south. We lived in South Carolina for 7 years and all I can say is that I would rather drink my water...not breathe it.
That being said, hubby says, the dry heat's not so bad if you don't mind the same feeling as sticking your head in an oven and taking deep breaths. It was 115 degrees in Phoenix the other day and he was miserable.
As he said, if you stand out in that heat for 24 hours, ust like you dry raisins or jerky, you could end up being turned into a dehydrated human being, all crispy tough, wrinkled, and parched.
