It was my daily commute and I never stopped being thankful for the view, especially on clear days when you could see the mountains. My idea for the new tunnel is to have the entire west wall covered in screens displaying the view as you would have seen it the last 60 years.

Such a coincidence, there was a tv show on this morning (an older one, apparently!) describing all the delays and engineering issues for the new tunnel. I didn't realize it was finished! Good bye view. We are only rarely there, it will be interesting to see what the drive feels like now.
Aww poor Viaduct. The song was pretty funny though. There is definitely something to be said about having a view as your are driving though. Hope they do decorate the walls in the tunnel.
You should check out our cousin J's video of their last drive on the viaduct. Uncle J was driving his old classic car, it was pretty fun to watch. Then they all went out for Dick's afterwards. She posted it on FB. 🙂
