It's better now

I'll try to make this a short check -in cuz J just told me on the phone, "STUDY!" He doesn't need to tell me that - it's all I do now. I go to school, study, sleep, go back to school. Yesterday I was studying, and after 3 hours, 8:30 PM, I was hungry and made myself a salad. (I was at home yesterday.) I was immediately exhausted and went to my bed "for a quick study nap" and woke up at 11:30 PM horrified, what about the studying!

There is too much to learn in too short a time, and you cannot waste it on sleep.

My husband has taken over the upkeep of our little farm completely - water, hay, poop, every day. Surprised by sweet Mag following him around watching him as he does these things.

I said goodbye to Mag this morning and caught his scent, which I do not notice when I live with him, but I've been in Dortmund. I touched his forehead, inhaled,  and said, "You smell good" and left for another 4-day stay in Dortmund.

To alleviate any worries, I just checked into a hotel with AIR CONDITIONING!!

Lesson learned.

And almost as wonderful as AC, my hotel room is directly across the Cathedral of my school! I  am looking out my window now, and the Catholic Center is almost within hand's reach. I told my husband, "I could spit out my gum and hit the church wall! Not that I'd ever spit at a church!" But seriously, I'm right next to my school. *sighs relief*. It's hard to explain, but it's a church complex of sorts, with a regal church with the stained glass windows and steeple, and it makes part of an old walled complex where I go to school on the top floor --- 5 floors up.

As I told J tonight, "We worked in two rooms today, alternating. One was as hot as H***, the other was as hot as Mordor. As I did rescue exercises with other students, I tried not to drip sweat directly into their eyes."

And right now the AC is on full blast. THIS feeling, right now, the coolness, is worth paying twice the cost of the other 4-star hotel without AC.

And I'll sleep tonight.

And I'll study now: )

Pictures of everything so far to come, I just cannot afford the time to upload photos to the cloud and then to the blog with the HTML edits. I need to study, eat and sleep, that's it.

***Update***

My man just called and asked how I was and I said I'm rubbing my legs cuz I'm freezing. He said, "Turn off the AC"

I said, "NO WAY! It's saving my life!  What if it never comes back?"

I'll finish up in a few more pages and go walking outside and quickly overheat, and run back here.: )

***

Forgive me J but I  just had to upload my little video, (it's quicker for me to upload a video than to upload photos).

But J, this is what I meant! Outside is a circus-loud oven, and I'm in a tiny capsule of icy silence. I can hear myself typing, without a towel for the sweat, so that's a good hotel, right?
: )

We're having a heat wave here too, and air conditioning is a necessary thing for survival in my opinion! So glad you're comfortable now. Best of luck!

So glad you are comfortable at last--it's hard to study (and sleep) in extreme heat. Our heatwave (almost 2 weeks!) is gone now, this morning I had to (briefly) use the windshield wipers during my commute. Not enough rain to irrigate the garden, but it REALLY helps clear the smoke from Siberian (!!!) forest fires out of the air.

And maybe enough to dampen our forests and drop the fire danger a little? I hope.

I know what you mean about smelling things when you've been away. At home I don't smell the ripening apples in the orchard (right outside the bedroom window!) but if I've been away all day, the sweet smell of apples is the first thing I notice when I walk up to open the gate. :-)

Oh my goodness. So glad you were able to find that hotel! It looks really nice! I can not remember ANY hotels / gasthofs in Germany that had AC. I do miss those windows though. They were like air-tight capsules.

I like to think that when I'm away for a while and return & smell the sweet smell my horse, that he also experiences that same sort of smell from me. Do you notice Mag burrowing his nose into your after you are away for a while?
