If only everyone knew how awesome donkeys are. We'd all have them!

I'm Lytha from West Seattle, Washington. I moved to NRW, Germany in 2007 and married a wonderful German man who understands my love of horses and fulfilled my dream of living the last 2/3 of my life in the country, with my horse in my backyard.

Such a handsome donkey he is and you're right, we'd all love our very own Bellis
I too want a donkey. But right now I have no room. :)
Camryn, maybe someday: )
Teresa, Mine has always shared a stall with a horse, a 10X10 stall. Of course the door is never shut, so they choose when to share it, that makes a difference. But it makes me happy that they choose to share such a tiny space.
A donkey however can be very loud when upset, so best to never leave them alone if your neighbors are close. Irish will keep her company. I say her cuz boys are even louder, in general. Do you remember when we had a male donkey here, and they would mate regularly in plain view of the street? Embarrassing.
Bellis seems so loving and calm you should just ride her to vet your confidence up again. :)
Bellis is beautiful.
There's a donkey about a mile from here, the whole valley knows when she wants something, it echos. I love the sounds. Also: who will complain about my yappy dogs with THAT sounding off several times a day?
:-)
Love!
The highest honor on our farm is being Sparky's (the donkey) friend. With zero exceptions, every horse that has had the opportunity to share a pasture with him adores him.
Agreed! Donkeys are awesome!!! I'm trying to get caught up on your blog while stuck at the in-laws place. I'm not commenting on every post just to save time but I am reading all of them.
