Update on Amja

When we got home my man called the owners of Amja to check in with them about buying the gelding.

I have to admit I had been thinking of him the entire time we were gone, and I was excited to get home and get a vet check and perhaps have him. I'd even bought an Arabian Hamilton halter for him.

My man told me after speaking with them that he's not for sale, they can't sell him because he has a heart condition. I don't know more than that, although I find that extremely honest of them, because if my vet had not caught that, they could have made a lot of money on him. My man joked that Amja had a heart attack when he found out how much money they wanted for him. : )

So I'm opening up my search to partbred Arabians, and I've contacted a state stud in Poland. We'll see what happens.

I go check out a horse for a lease on Saturday in our area. I hope that works out cuz I need to ride.

I am sorry he didn't work out for you - but it's nice to find such an honest seller. Hope you find a horse to ride soon . . .

Hello! I just found your blog. I look forward to reading more. I spent 3 weeks in Germany quite a few years ago and it was an unforgettable experience.
An honest seller, wow! Hope you find a horse to ride!

I have 2 Morabs--partbreds can be great horses, too. Good luck in your search.

Disappointing! What a heartbreak that would have been to find that out later though. You are doing such a diligent job of searching, I know you'll find a good one at the right time.

Aww. Poor Amja. How good on the timing though. Onward.

Do those honest sellers have any other horses for sale? Just sayin'.

Also: is the heart condition genetic? I know you were looking at other horses from the same breeding stock.

(part-arabs...maybe an arab/traeber? Fiddle hopes that's what you find).

How wondeful that they are being honest, doesn't seem to be much honesty in sellers often...

Good luck with the possible lease!

Awwwww that's too bad about Amja! Will he be okay? I am glad you found out before buying him though. I'm glad they were honest about it.

Good luck with the lease horse and I'll keep my fingers crossed for good luck on your continued search.
