Arabians.de and Akhal-Tekes.de spam mail

Today I got spammed by an Arabian/Akhal-Teke farm in our neighboring state. They emailed me about their upcoming stallion show/open house. I call it spam simply because I did not intend to be put on their mailing list.

They own the domain names Arabians.de, and Akhal-Tekes.de, which is quite impressive, but I think they’re more dealers than breeders. Or perhaps all breeders in Germany are dealers. That’s what I’ve run into anyway.

They take racing Arabians, teach them to go down the trail, and sell them as endurance prospects. Most come from out of country. They price them way out of my range, and they are some of the ugliest Arabians I’ve seen, with some of the worst legs.

I love the little Akhal-Teke necklaces that they make the Arabians wear too. It’s so classy and distinctive. I also think it’s cute that their endurance colors match the German flag. Even though many of the horses were not “Made in Germany.”

They have a breed of horse called Arasien. I’d never heard of it but I’d seen it on my sale search engines. I wonder why they put a little registered trademark name next to the word Arasien? Did they make it up themselves? Their site also sells  “Purebred Anglo-Arabians.”UPDATE: Yes they made it up. They're crossing Arabs and Akhal-Tekes. Interesting.

If you go to their website, I warn you: It’s the tackiest site I’ve seen in a long time, and actually  makes the horses look less valuable. The ugliness of the website rubs off on the horses. So, cool domain names, guys, but crappy implementation!

The necklaces are called "alajas." The Turkmens are very superstitious... so the alajas are blessed and supposed to ward off evil. They are traditionally made of camel and sheep hair. In Turkmenistan, all Akhal-Tekes wear an alaja... even the broodmares and foals!

Wow the website is ugly, but some of those bridles and necklaces are awesome. It's like horse jewelry lol! Thanks for sharing. :D
