Feeding baby birds

After failing yesterday I thought I'd sit down and really try to capture those birds feeing their babies.

Then I saw this surprise! Oh look, aren't you healthy and vibrant after being born in your thick white horsehair nest. What went through his mind when he first took a look outside the box - a whole vibrant whirling world!

He would often look straight down like "Oh dear, that's 12 feet at least. I'm not so sure about this new world outside the box."

Where is the worm, where is the worm, I need my next worm if I'm ever to leave here.

There is always another worm coming by this single parent.

This is the other species in the nest box a few feet below. This box has both parents working it diligently.

Mouthful of worm.

One of the parents flying out. I kept expecting one of the kids to do so as well because I kept hearing flapping and seeing blurry wings inside that nest. I would often check the ground to make sure no one was lying there.

I sure had fun pulling up a chair and watching the nests today.

I feel sorry for the single parent. Baby birds are voracious eaters.

Fifty words for rain?? Did you count them or did someone tell you that? That is just crazy but then this year I've felt a little crazy thinking this is the place I've chosen to live. I am so sick of wet and MUD!

aaww..Im so envious that you were able to capture these moments! I wish so badly a bird would make a nest in my back yard. We have a birdhouse but I don't think they have enough privacy. I just love your photos :)
