I haven't shown Baasha's feet for a while, but I still take pics every month to compare. The main difference I see between Sept 2009 and 2010 is the thrush moved from the LF to the LH, but I finally saw improvement this week. Sure wish I had a hoof jack! (You can click to enlarge the tiny photos.)

I've been battling thrush with one of my horses ever since I moved from dry South Dakota to extremely humid Georgia. I'm finally seeing a little improvement by using sugardine mixture. Even though I pick poop every day, I've also been using lime in pens once a month when we scrap them. What are you doing for yours?
Karen Chaton told me about Durasole (link: http://www.jeffersequine.com/ssc/product.asp?CID=1&mscssid=BR4F15RT334T8H8B184L9LA31N0GA9B0&pf_id=0028513&cmkw=durasole )
which is an iodine-based liquid that she uses to toughen hoof sole. I use it on Fiddle (because of her tender feet) and find that it also absolutely kills thrush--so now I use it anytime either horse looks a little bit thrushy, and the thrush is gone by the next day. The bottles are tiny (so maybe your family could ship it to Germany for you?); a little goes a long way.
Hi Wazzoo, I generally recommend Pete's Goo*, which worked for me in the past. This time I tried a two-day soak with an antifungal medicine, and scrubbed with Betaine scrub every other day. I cannot say which helped more, sorry, that's not very helpful!
In my opinion manure/urine has little to do with thrush because my horse lives outdoors all year and doesn't get it in his feet, but does get wet and muddy. I still pick my field though: )
Try the Pete's Goo every day if possible, I think it's the key.
*Triple antibiotic (neosporin) and athlete's foot cream mixed 50/50 applied by syringe and held in place with cotton if possible.
Aarene, now that I've had guests from home, I am stocked up on the horsey supplies! Thanks for the tip though. I have used Keratex (Keralit) with good results on soles (not frogs) too. We're out of the woods now so I'm just rinsing with wine vinegar. It's the cheapest thing in my med box! If you'd like to send me something, I ran out of Reeses Pieces and believe it or not I'm not into chocolate so all the items in the snack cabinet are my man's. I could send you some of his chocolate in return!
I think he has lovely feet, lytha!
The right rear looks totally weird, but I'm almost positive it's the angle of the shot.
