Today I got two Equus magazines in the mail - both June and July. WTH. Well, I should be happy they made it over the ocean at all, huh? My man teases me about how they are getting so thin lately, he calls them my "horse flyer.": )
Driving along in my car today, windows down, I was playing an old mix CD of songs I used to dance to at a club in Seattle. It takes me back, and somehow also subconsciously, because a car drove by and I said to myself, "Hey look! They have a German license plate!" Uh...yah, of course, cuz this is Germany, I remembered a split second later. What a trip. Must be the music.
There is this one particular cow who moos day and night, how odd. And today a bunch of sheep moved in to a neighboring field and they are sporting bells and as they graze they make the most pleasant tinkling noise. I love the bells on livestock that you find here. I remember in the Alps, you could say the hills were alive with the sound of cowbells. It was awesome.
Finally we're having a respite from the awful heat - the mercury is hanging at about 20, which is perfect.
Baasha's mineral supplement bucket, repurposed. (Although my man wants it to bury a geocache with...)
I did enjoy my bucket of ice water this week.
Did you know we have two enormous tractor tires on our land? They make a great chair.
It's almost summer break for my man, and I cannot wait for his much deserved vacation. Though summer break is not long in Europe - only 6 weeks - we will enjoy it!
I have to admit I will miss my family this summer, it will be our first summer not flying home to see them. *sigh* 4th of July was always so fun with my family. But here they go straight from the 3rd to the 5th of July without stopping.

Great idea for repurposing the bucket. I'd have to pass on that, though as my feet would start to ache and then my legs. My feet are too sensitive to cold.
Maybe you could repurpose the big tires into creating an obstacle course for you and Baasha to ride through?
Music always has a wonderful way of being able to transport us back to a different time and place, eh?
You paint a peaceful, beautiful musical picture with the cowbells and sheep bells. I would love that, too.
Maybe I could put bells on my goats and llamas. :)

Are you going anywhere for vacation? I'm afraid we and many other victims of the economy are doing "staycations" this year.
You could make a giant swing out of one of the tires.
Re the music: we used to call them flashbacks ;-)
We are on the staycation plan too
So you stick your feet in ice water? On purpose?
I'd pass out.
Have a wonderful vacation together!
I get those same feelings while driving in a car with a mixed CD. I can forget where I am sometimes. I wonder if that feeling is ever going to go away or atleast get a little better?
The boys are finally out tomorrow for a whopping 6 week vacation. It has it's pluses and minuses I guess.
We'll have to get together at some point.Im having so much fun meeting up with my favorite expat bloggers. Right now Im actually dogsitting for one of them..LOVE have two adorable doggies to spend the day with.
Good luck with the game tonight!!
That's funny, just like you I received the june and july issues of my "Practical Horseman" one after the other last week. I hadn't even realized until then that the june issue had been missing.
But so far after 4 years of subscribing every issue made it here (sooner or later).
Thank you lytha for your kind comments on Crispin and his blog. So far I'm loving the journey with him. After my first horse I'm not scarred about starting my own horse anymore. My first mare was started by a professional and was a big mess when I got her. If I mess up Crispin I'll at least know what happend and what went wrong (plus nothing is set in stone yet. If things should ever get out of hand I can always seek professional help).
I know just what you mean about the licence plates. I moved from Hannover to Muenster and usually look out for "H" (Hannover) plates. And whenever I visite home I'll at least once fall for the "Oh, look, a car from Hannover" before realizing that, in Hannover most cars have a Hannover licence plate.
HA HA,
I recognize those toes,feet & legs
Are you shaving them over there?
