We're off to Munich for Kirchentag (church days) 2010.
My man's choir is performing, otherwise we'd skip it - I'd already been to one Kirchentag in Cologne, and one was enough for me. 500,000 people in one place at one time, it was crazy. This time we'll double that number because it's a Catholic+Protestant Kirchentag. So, twice as many people. (And I think it's funny that the pope is against the fact that we will all take communion together on Sunday....)
Every hotel in Munich has been sold out for months, UNLESS you are me. Hehehehhehe. I have an American credit card. That means I enter hotels.com and they assume I'm an international guest, and suddenly there are rooms available. I love that.
We got a room at the Sheraton and I plan on relaxing in the pool and totally enjoying myself, and going to a few Kirchentag events when I must: )
I plan on re-experiencing Munich alone when my man is busy with his choir, just as I did my first time in Germany. Except back then I was terrified and couldn't speak German so my ipod was my only friend.
I look forward to taking the Prius further than I ever have, and letting my man sleep in the passenger seat. He's had some very long workdays lately and he deserves it.
Isabel will be coming by to take care of Baasha and the paw-feet. This time Baasha has no array of medicines! I hope it is much easier for her, and it's only 4 days.
Before I go, here are some pics from this week.
A rare moment of closeness.
His favorite outfit--mud.
The neighbor's grass tastes better.

Have fun...haven't made it past Munich train station...I said to my mann why didn't we plan a get away with the holiday weekend....too late!
Lucky you to be able to say so casually "I'm off to Munich." Jealous.
Have a great time - take lots of piccies and tell us all about it when you get back. I'm sure Baasha will miss you (although I'm told a LOT of carrots can ease the pain!)
Viel Spaß beim Kirchentag! You know that Christoph lives in Munich for 4 months? But this long weekend he spends at home. We'll pick him up at Bremen Airport tomorrow. I am so glad to see him again!
Hi Beth! I was thinking of you yesterday actually before Kathy told me that I would enjoy reading this blog of yours and saying hello =) So I was thinking of you cus i was listening to tori amos..she's a singer and plays piano..you look like her!! I'm sure you know who that is and you have been told that before. maybe i already told you that haha. I miss you a lot! heyy i think that's funny too that the pope doesnt want to share communion lol. how rude! jk. well anyways i love the pics of your animals. do you ever go on facebook??? ever? if not that's ok ttyl love you
woops. i didnt want it to say from my email. <3 you would have figured that out that it was me i think
I was thinking that Mercer would be happy to be in familiar-ish surroundings after coming home from the vet- looks like she came out of her shell a bit! I'm jealous... I miss having kitties! Well, I don't miss the hair, though. :)

Frau, last year's churchdays was in Bremen but we didn't make it. We hope to make it up there soon though.
Melissa, it took 8 hours of driving to get there! I am amazed at how such a tiny country (the size of montana) can take so long to get across. Sheesh!
Autumn, I took lots of pics and will post soon. Baasha has fresh carrots today as apology cuz I forgot to stock up for the weekend. Yah, he had to go a weekend without. But I'm sure Isabel brought him dried bread - that is the typical treat here.
Sydni, I was surprised to see your comment! Welcome to my life (blog). Tori Amos is one of my husband's fave singers and he's got all her cds. He can play her stuff on the piano too! I don't like facebook cuz I'm an introvert. At least that was the latest explanation I was given.
Becky, Mercer is getting better. J just loves her. He spent a long time today trying to woo her and kiss her. It's so cute, she always visits us while we're on the toilet. I don't know why but that is her "safe space" where the humans remain immobile until they reach for TP (that's when she exits). So today J told me he went to the toilet and called to her, "Hey Mercer! I'm on the klo!" and she came running in, I think she likes him better even though he doesn't move slowly and quietly around her like I do. HM!
And I do not like the hair. It takes me exactly three times as long to vaccuum my house now because I have to do all surfaces, not just floors.
But it is so entertaining to have cats, and they give me company when I'm online: ) And it sure was flattering to arrive home and see how they missed us.
