He also asked us about where a neighbor lives. In this neighborhood, we can help with directions! (Er, uh, my man can help! I can receive packages!)
What could it be?
Unbelievable! It was from Haas Horse Sport Co. We bought our fencing supplies from them. We bought a LOT of fencing supplies last year! 200 Tposts, geotiles, 1500 meters of electric rope, a pooper scooper, everything that goes with having a farm.

And inside was their catalog, a Christmas card, and three bottles of wine, with their company brand on the label. Cool!

But this, this was just a thank you for buying fencing stuff. I know where we'll be ordering more supplies from in the future!
Life in Germany. Always a surprise for me!
Baasha's and Lytha's Boredom
It has been boring for us, being locked in like this. I'd like to take him out, but the wind and snow are so difficult for his eyes. So we wait.

Baasha's feelings about it
Baasha was so done with staying inside! I have to admit, it it were just me, I'd love it to stick around like this, but Baasha was really suffering from it. Yah, "suffering" as much as a treasured show horse is, who has to live in a stall (*gasp*!) for 4 days straight. I could see his hoofprints in the snow, he'd venture out a few meters, and then come back.

Today was the last school day in our state, so I am happy to have my man home for vacation.
Baasha is happy that his bucket has stopped freezing.: )

I love that picture of your front yard, its so beautiful!
We got a bunch of really WEIRD gifts from our title company (not the realtor): flowers, a subscription to Sunset Magazine (Mother Earth News or Grit would have been more useful)...an...in a box delivered by UPS, a helium balloon! It was the lightest package I've ever gotten in the mail.
Yup, rain is better than sn*w. Baasha and I have been trying to tell you that. Are you listening now? >g<
have you seen "doggles", goggles for dogs? perhaps you can make something fro Baasha. Maybe there is something out there already, or try xxl ski goggles!
ps do you know anyone in/near Ulm? looking for house rental there
So chilly, so beautiful.
How's Baasha's eye doing?
Our snow is turning in the crunchy/ slushy stuff..yuck. We are supposed to get more snow tomorrow though.
Wow thats neat that you got a gift box like that! We got a gift box aswell with a bunch of goodies..if we get snowed in, we'll be eating well for days and days.
Happy Holidays to you, your man and Baasha!
Would a fly mask work for cutting the wind and help his eye? They make lighter weight ones for riding too that might work. Desiree
Yeah, our snow is crunchy/icy now. You don't want it to stick around - you should hope that it melts fast then fresh snow comes!
I love the present from your fencing company! How cool is that!
German kids don't get out til the day before Christmas Eve? That sucks!
cdncowgirl, you ride in minus 16? NUTS! crazy!
aarene, oh, i'll take the sunset. you got a balloon by mail!? ahahahha!
amy and sahara, i think you are right. a mask would have helped. you know, even alittle wind resistance helps!
breathe, thank you for asking. it's better - he's not squinting, but that left eye is still gooey. so i clean and treat it when it is like that. the cortisone med helps a lot lately.
sonya, you should see our goodie cupboard. full. overflowing with chocolate and cookies and marzipan and and and...beware upon opening!
funder, ah yah, german kids don't get out til christmas eve, actually! but my man's school had a "floating holiday" that they took the day before christmas eve. don't worry, tho, they get 2 weeks off. they also get tons of other holidays (religious) that we don't get in america, but, sadly, their summer vactions are cut short for it.
