We woke up to white frozen grass, and everything tinged in white crystals.
My horse was not there, so I had to bring his breakfast to the field and lure him back for his eye medicine. On the way, I saw so many pretty frozen leaves, I had to get my camera.
Here Baasha shows how he can find the one patch of mud on the property, and try to get it into his ear. (I still have not found this mud, maybe he rolled on a mole hill in the field??)
The morning light changed the frozen grass from white to its normal color. I love watching it change.
Baasha was not impressed by the frost, but he was quite agitated by the cracking ice in the trees, as the sun soaked through the frost, freeing the leaves to fall in clusters. So many leaves fell today, it was constant!
When I finally turned him loose again, he wandered off, and spent the entire day out there eating grass.
Baasha was very worried about all the thawing things, he kept throwing his head up and jumping, and wondering what was happening. Not like he's never experienced Winter, but never here, and it was an odd morning.
The holly looked especially nice covered in frost.
It was about 9:30 AM, and the sunlight was parting the trees over us. It was a truly wonderful morning to be here.
A deer ran across the field, transfixing my horse.
Everything was making him stop and look.
It is bitter cold, but his blanket works. I warm my hands under it, checking to see if he is too warm.
I finally had to quit takin pics and go inside to get dressed and ready for the day. It sure was nice spending the morning with a very awake Baasha!

It's been super frosty around here these last few mornings..Im so loving it:)
Thanks for posting all the pretty pix!
We were supposed to have a "cold snap" last weekend with *record low* temps (the previous record for the date is 34 degrees F) but it didn't happen at our place. We didn't even get RAIN until Tuesday. Now, everything is soggy.
Aaaahhh, good old murky home. Your place certainly is pretty. I love seeing the changes in your season--similar but not quite the same as home!
I love fall mornings like that with my horse. Unfortunately, our area is now soggy and yucky, but I have faith that there are a few more crisp clear mornings in our future. I hope. ;) How cool that Baasha has so much room to roam (and stay clean)! Oh, how I wish! :)
HAHAHA!! The transfixed equine is so cool to look at too! Falls air and winds and now frosts...theyn have such new sounds it is neat to see horses react and display= to falls displays!
Kac
Beautiful frosty shots there too!
Wonderful shots
Wow! Cold enough for horse blankets there already?! Brrr! Baby Doll is growing her winter beard. Not very becoming for lady, I might add. hehe! But I suppose it keeps her chin and jaw warm. :)
Thanks for sharing your special morning moments with Baasha.
