I'm Lytha from West Seattle, Washington. I moved to NRW, Germany in 2007 and married a wonderful German man who understands my love of horses and fulfilled my dream of living the last 2/3 of my life in the country, with my horse in my backyard.

I know where you are...I know where you are!!! Can I say, or do I have an unfair advantage????
Okay....Pike Place Market!! :)
Now do tell the story behind this! :)
Yes, the place that puts unease in your son's heart, Melanie: ) *giggle*
So glad someone answered who knew how to say/type Pike Place Market correctly, and you're not even native (Illinois?).
The story is, I'd always wanted to ride downtown, so one day a friend of mine and I just did! It was great fun, and turns out, legal, cuz the bike cops only yelled at us when we rode through a flashing "Don't Walk" sign. The only place you can't ride is Seattle Center, but then when you do, the employees all want to talk to you so you can't leave anyway! I said, "Can I just get a pic with me on my horse in front of the Space Needle?" and they said "SURE!"
My friend's Arab got away from her in Myrtle Edwards Park (on the waterfront downtown) and I'll never forget how she ran him down and caught him!
I wish I had the pic of me riding with skyscrapers all around, but that one is not digital. I'll have to post it someday though!
I did ride to my Queen Anne office building, and that was soooo odd, having my horse there where I worked every day!
More pics later..

wow , I thought you were kidding..that really is Pike Place Market!!!
I think I will pass on bringing my cowards to that Market, they would freak out!
Jan in Washington!
Cool! I have only been up to Pikes Place Market one time! We rode the ferry over from Bremerton on my older daughters school field trip, we had a lot of fun! We didnt see any horses though!
Yay! I was going to guess Pike Place Market!! I thought that was what the sign said, but then I thought to myself 'maybe this is a trick question' lol
OH!!! That is the best Lytha! I would have gotten it if Mellie had not...too cool!
Oh..can't believe your friends horse got away from her! Glad she got him..ran him down huh!
Wow...I think you should have the Intrepid Riders Award too...maybe you do huh?

Wow. The only way I'd get my horse in a place like that was if I photoshopped him in. LOL
LOL!!! You have an excellent memory, Lytha, as I am orignally from Illinois. :)
I love the market and try to get up there at least once a year. (Before I had kidlets and time constraints, I used to go about once a month).
I cannot believe that you rode your horses downtown Seattle, although if I stop and think about it, Bo would probably do just fine too. Great photo!!!!
g'head Lytha: show 'em the photo in front of the baseball stadium!!!
Oh my goodness! That had to be so amazing! It is legal?! Uh oh, I might have to drag my poor horse there! That would be so incredible. Please excuse me while I go gather my jaw off the ground. . .
I literally did a double take when I saw the photo! Wow!
