I spent the day in a frenzied state of wondering - what will happen when my husband calls the agent and asks about the property. The main question: can we buy or rent the adjacent fields? 1 acre is not really enough for us. What if, what if, what if...I made several absent minded mistakes today. Like, I took care of Baasha's feet, but forgot to put Desitin on his scratches. Doh!
I kissed Baasha's ear and said, "It might be soon" but he has no idea what I'm mumbling about. I couldn't really eat - but he took an interest in my christmas cookies and so we shared them. A bite for me, the rest of the cookie for you, a bite for me, and so on..
He looked so beautiful today, so wistful with his big dark eyes and white eyelashes. I washed and brushed his tail til it was "softer than a lady's hair" as Black Beauty would say.
I got home and my man hugged me and picked me up and kissed me a hundred times and I said "TELL ME!"
The three acres adjacent are for sale. And not for something insane, for something we can afford!!! OMGOSH! That was it - that was all we needed for it to be perfect. The photo shows the adjacent acreage - obviously it's been used for making hay. It's gonna be my horse's stomping grounds if this works. (It's not the field in the foreground of the photo, it's the rolling field beyond it.)
We go back for our second appointment Friday.
My man is in the next room as I type this, blasting the Beatles and singing as he works. He's happy too: )

Oh Lytha, I am so happy for you!!! I hope that everything works out!
PS-I left a little note below about Mis Piggy Pony!
Well you certainly picked the right fella. That land looks positively edible, and I am so happy for you.
I'm so excited for you!! Fingers crossed that everything works out :)
Maybe next year Pie & I will finally find that "just right" place too.
OOOO!! That is sooooo exciting!! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you guys!!!!!
That is a beautiful spot Lytha. Baasha should be so happy there, and you too! ;)
Keep us posted as you go along, so we can all cheer with you!
That looks so lovely! WOOHOO I'm happy for you. fingers crossed!
oh you guys are so sweet, i'm going crazy here with excitement and the fear that it won't work out.
i spend my days fantasizing about fencing and mud-free solutions.
i told baasha about it today. i'm so tempted to write all the details and include a photo of the house, but i really shouldn't.
friday we'll know more. i keep asking my man, "do you really like it? do you really want it?" cuz i don't want him to be relucatant, and he's a bit worried about the commute, but i think that's inevitable. right now he bikes to work. (we wouldn't even have a car if i hadn't told him i cannot go on living by bicycle. i thank him constantly for that car...)
