One day I was at an orienteering ride with my friend Brandi, and I couldn't find the carrots. I looked through the tack room of her trailer where I had just put the bag of carrots, and they were missing. I then noticed her horse Cody, a sassy blaze-faced bay, grinning at me with carrot breath. Oh no. Where was the *bag* the carrots were in? We panicked, then realized there's nothing we could do.
I said "If you ever see that bag again, I want it back." (Plastic Safeway bags are worth 20 cents now, aren't they?) In hindsight, I don't really know what I cared about that bag....
2 weeks later I got the excited phone call. "The bag is back! He pooped it finally! It's intact, you can have it!"
Brandi wanted it to be something special now that her horse made it though the 2 week ordeal with a grocery bag inside him. She put a big blue ribbon on the bag as a gift-wrapping, and put it in a big gallon sized ziplock. Amazing. Hooray for Cody! (We were more careful after that.)
The pictures are from a weekend trip we took to Cle Elum, WA, and an orienteering ride at Green Mountain, near Bremerton, WA. Cody is very photogenic, isn't he?
